WTEN news director leaves for Orlando

3 December, 2009

Ahhh, Orlandoooo… Sunshine. Disneyland. Professional basketball. And the wreckage of a certain golfer’s Escalade and marriage.

All that, apparently, was too much for Rob Hubler to resist: The news director at WTEN in Albany is leaving the ABC affiliate for a central Florida Fox affiliate.

Hubler’s last day at WTEN was Friday. Elaine Peake, the station’s assistant news director, will fill the role until a replacement for Hubler is found, said Mike Sechrist, the station’s interim general manager.

Sechrist said Hubler worked for WTEN for slightly more than a year, and added that a replacement will probably be named after the end of the year.
